Setting Expectations Parenting Motherhood Mindset Growing Faith

Motherhood is certainly challenging and can be full of frustration. However, a lot of our stress can come from having the wrong expectations for ourselves and our kids. Today's conversation with Karen is incredibly helpful in navigating motherhood. Here's some highlights of our conversation:

Expectations for ourselves-

  1. stop the “what ifs” and stay in the moment
  2. no season lasts forever
  3. new mercies every morning
  4. always give thanks

Expectations for our kids-

  1. remember their abilities at their age - not “they should know better”
  2. appropriate school goals - what’s their best for that subject
  3. teaching balance
  4. adjust our timing to the pace of our kids, not the other way around
